Basketball Recap: Escondido Adventist Academy Skates Past Bethel Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Escondido Adventist Academy). They breezed by the Bethel Christian Kings to the tune of 77-50 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Hawks have posted since January 24th.

Despite the defeat, Bethel Christian had strong showings from Joseph Kyababchian, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 26 points and four steals, and Chris Lahham, who went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points along with six boards and five assists. That's the most points Lahham has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Backstrom, who posted four points and nine rebounds.

Escondido Adventist Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Bethel Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Escondido Adventist Academy and Sacramento Adventist will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Bethel Christian, they will face off against Packinghouse Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
