They came out on top against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte by a score of 69-59 on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Easton Lawrence, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Levi Elk nation was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Stanley County pushed their record up to 7-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanley County will face off against Todd County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Todd County is ranked 123rd, while Stanley County is ranked 99th). As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they will head out on the road to challenge Mobridge-Pollock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
