The Butte County Pirates lost to Watersprings back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. Butte County came out on top against Watersprings by a score of 52-44.
Butte County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Westergard, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Westergard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rafe McAffee, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Butte County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Watersprings, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Butte County will take on Raft River at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Raft River has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Watersprings, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Clark County at 7:00 p.m. Watersprings is facing Clark County at the right time seeing as Clark County is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
