Basketball Game Preview: Inderkum Tigers vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves

Inderkum is on a 16-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Woodcreek is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Inderkum Tigers will welcome the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Inderkum's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 matches.

Last Wednesday, Inderkum humbled Bella Vista with an 89-40 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 25 points or more this season.

Inderkum can attribute much of their success to Siincere Hudson, who went 9 of 16 en route to 20 points along with five assists and five steals, and Malachi Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Hudson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Taylen Goodman, who posted eight points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Woodcreek beat Vista del Lago 57-45 on Wednesday. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Eagles are ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Inderkum better keep an eye on Max VanLaningham. He was instrumental in Woodcreek's win, going 9 for 15 on his way to 20 points in addition to six blocks and five boards. That's the most blocks VanLaningham has posted since back in December of 2024. Zach Bualat was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Inderkum's win bumped their record up to 22-1. As for Woodcreek, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.

Inderkum beat Woodcreek 60-48 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Inderkum repeat their success, or does Woodcreek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
