Canyon Ridge is 2-8 against Twin Falls since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Riverhawks will be playing at home against the Bruins at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Canyon Ridge turned things around against Thunder Ridge on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Titans.
Jaxon Wheeler made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Wheeler was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chritian Waitley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Canyon Ridge: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-7 otherwise. Kohyn Barnes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Canyon Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thunder Ridge only posted an OBP of .304.
Meanwhile, Twin Falls had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. Everything went their way against the Wolverines as they made off with a 16-2 victory.
Cameron Reyes and Kentyn Ketterling dominated on the mound. Reyes pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Ketterling tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Ketterling has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hoyt Murray was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Nolan Lehew, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Twin Falls' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Canyon Ridge, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-7.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Canyon Ridge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Twin Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
