The Grace Baptist Academy Flyers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Grace Baptist Academy beat the Kings 59-48. Given Grace Baptist Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 89th in Mississippi, while the Kings are ranked 251st in Alabama), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of East St. John.
Grace Baptist Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
Grace Baptist Academy beat the Stingrays 65-52 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grace Baptist Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
