The Weeki Wachee Hornets will challenge the Anclote Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Weeki Wachee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Weeki Wachee got the win against Central by a conclusive 14-4. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won six in a row.
Bre Slater spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Juliana Gray was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Reegan Miller was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Gray wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Weeki Wachee lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Anclote came up short against Central on Thursday, falling 21-2. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Anclote saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johniya Swinton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Weeki Wachee's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Anclote, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Anclote's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Weeki Wachee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. It's a different story for Anclote, though, as they've only averaged .183. Will they be able to contain Weeki Wachee's hitters?
