After losing to the Trinity Christian Lions the last time they met, the Clovis Wildcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Clovis blew past Trinity Christian 68-39 on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Clovis.
Clovis was led to victory by Zarai Lewis and Gianna Cordova. Lewis dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Cordova scored 26 points along with 7 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lewis has scored at least 25% of Clovis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Armijo, who scored 6 points.
Clovis' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Clovis will look to defend their home court on Friday against Valencia at 7:00 p.m. As for Trinity Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Olton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Olton is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
