Grapevine is 6-1 against Ryan since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Grapevine Mustangs will head out to square off against the Ryan Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Grapevine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Grapevine had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Denton on Tuesday. Everything went Grapevine's way against Denton as Grapevine made off with a 15-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won five in a row.

Josie Jones tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Marleigh Sign was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Ava Snyder was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and five RBI.
Grapevine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Ryan might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-1 to Richland, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Royals: they've now lost seven in a row.
Grapevine pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ryan, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 10-3.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grapevine hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Ryan struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Grapevine's way against Ryan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Grapevine made off with a 13-6 victory. Will Grapevine repeat their success, or does Ryan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
