Baseball Recap: Flint Hill Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Flint Hill waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Saint James Saints a 10-0 shutout. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Flint Hill got a big performance out of Zach Rachinsky, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Rachinsky has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of PJ Lyons, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Flint Hill pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Saint James, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Coming up, Flint Hill will host Potomac School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Saint James, they are taking a road trip to challenge Mercersburg Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
