After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rio Americano, Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Stagg Delta Kings as Franklin made off with a 7-1 victory. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.
Jay Corona was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Franklin is 4-1 when Corona posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Campuzano, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The win got Franklin back to even at 7-7. As for Stagg, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.
Franklin will have a chance to go back-to-back against Stagg: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
