After a string of four wins, the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 73-43 loss at the hands of Fairmont Prep. While losing is never fun, Desert Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 651st, while Fairmont Prep is ranked 118th).
Despite the loss, Desert Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Augustine Youssef, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Joshua Brown was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Desert Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Fairmont Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Loma Linda Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Fairmont Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Capistrano Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Capistrano Valley Christian is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
