The Campolindo Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Benicia Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Campolindo will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, Campolindo's game was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They escaped with a win against Acalanes by the margin of a single free throw, 52-51. Given Campolindo's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Acalanes is ranked 480th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Campolindo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Rendle, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Mansour, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Bethel scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Benicia still came out on top. Benicia walked away with a 65-58 win over Bethel.
Campolindo's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Benicia, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Campolindo strolled past Benicia in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 66-49. Does Campolindo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Benicia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
