Cocoa Beach extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 5 this week by beating Celebration, 44-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Minutemen.
Antwan Lee was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 113 yards as Cocoa topped Merritt Island. Teammate Tarean Folston added to the ground attack by rushing for 108 yards.
Cocoa's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jaelon Knowles has thrown for 164 yards this season, while Rakeem Murray has two catches for 56 yards. Folston leads the league in rushing with 361 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 5 this week will be when the Tigers take on Cocoa Beach. As it stands, Cocoa is in third, while Tony Piccalo's team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when John Wilkinson's team takes on the Minutemen. The Tigers have allowed 65 points this season, while Cocoa Beach has given up 62. Cocoa allowed 0 points last week as it defeated the Mustangs.
The Minutemen led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Storm.
