The Northridge Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Centerburg Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Northridge saw some tournament action on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Mt. Gilead 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Kash Reeves made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs but no hits. Northridge is 3-1 when Reeves allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-14 otherwise. Reeves was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Peyton McKenzie looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Northridge: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-14 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Noah Mason was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Northridge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 4-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brice Beaver, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Northridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Gilead struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Centerburg entered their tilt with Harvest Prep on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Trojans have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Centerburg pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Northridge, their record now sits at 8-15.
Northridge might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Centerburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
