Baseball Recap: MISL CTX Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

MISL CTX gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out the Tomball Kings Homeschool 4-2. The win was familiar territory for the Crusaders, who have now won three games in a row.

Alvin Alvarez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Alvarez was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Alvarez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was TJ Staley, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

MISL CTX's record now sits at 9-7. As for Tomball Kings, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-11-1.

MISL CTX and Tomball Kings could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Crusaders (ranked 752nd) will meet Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Gold (ranked 287th) at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Tomball Kings will challenge Oklahoma City Broncos HomeSchool at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (422 vs. 86).
