Wells waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Everything went their way against the Carlin Railroaders as they made off with a 22-3 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the Leopards' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Khloe DelRio was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Wells got a massive performance out of Jitzel Rivas, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Rivas a new career-high. Adriana Aguilar was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Wells kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive games.
Wells' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6.
