The Piper Bengals can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 42-34 victory over Fort Lauderdale. The win was just what Piper needed coming off of a 61-16 defeat in their prior match.
Piper found their leader in underclassman Catalina Robilio, who scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jazell Charles, who scored ten points.
Piper's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Fort Lauderdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
Piper will be playing in front of their home fans against Pompano Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fort Lauderdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Coral Springs Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coral Springs Charter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Lauderdale in Florida (Coral Springs Charter is ranked 159th, while Fort Lauderdale is ranked 514th).
