Stafford extended the longest winning streak in Heart of the Plains (8 Man) this week by beating Attica, 50-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Trojans.
South Barber was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. The Chieftains came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 33 last week.
South Barber's dynamic duo of Peyton Yandel and Jace Thurman proved tough for Cunningham to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Yandel threw for 115 yards and three touchdowns and Thurman had 81 yards receiving. Kale Girty helped South Barber's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.
Brandon Baird was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 41 carries, he ran for 208 yards as Skyline. Dustin Weber also contributed to the rushing game with 57 yards on the ground.
Michael Westerman made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wildcats. The senior grabbed one sack.
Tim Rector's team's Yandel and Thurman have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Yandel has thrown for 1072 yards this season, while Thurman, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 23 catches for 516 yards. Stafford's Tristin Paulsen leads the league in rushing yards with 1017.
Yandel has rushed for 935 yards on 147 carries so far this year.
Fairfield made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 298 from 386. The advance stemmed from a 64-18 victory over Macksville last week.
