Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Milton walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  win over the Gulf Breeze Dolphins  on Monday. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Dolphins on their field since May 6, 2021.

 Saylor Melton and  Brayden Barrow were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Melton   pitched five innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Meanwhile,  Barrow   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Melton also  tossed a  walk, which is notable because Milton is undefeated when he allows at  most  one  walk, but 7-12 otherwise. At bat,  Melton  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances, while  Barrow  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Cade Burdette was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Harley Messer, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Milton's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Gulf Breeze,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 15-10.
 Coming up, Milton will face off against Niceville at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Gulf Breeze does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
