Basketball Recap: Stanton's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Stanton can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against the Harvest Community Warriors by a score of 55-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Devils also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Aiyanna Smiley was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Perkins, who put up nine points.

Harvest Community lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rebekah Harmer, who dropped a triple-double with 25 points, 11 boards, and ten steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Spangler, who scored seven points.

Stanton's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Harvest Community, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Stanton has already played their next contest, a 45-42 win against Yulee on the 16th. As for Harvest Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-21 defeat against Clay on the 16th.
