On Wednesday, the South Fremont Cougars faced the Teton Timberwolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Fremont's rough 69-45 loss to Teton might stick with them for a while. South Fremont has not had much luck with Teton recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why South Fremont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brianne Bailey. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. That was a full 44.4% of South Fremont's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lily Christensen, who scored eight points.
South Fremont's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Teton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Fremont will take on Marsh Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Marsh Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while South Fremont is ranked 21st). As for Teton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sugar-Salem at 7:30 p.m. Sugar-Salem is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
