The Cedar Key Sharks will head out on the road to take on the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Key is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Cedar Key suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 63-42 defeat at the hands of Saint Francis Catholic.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Meadowbrook Academy beat Aucilla Christian 43-38 on Friday.
Meadowbrook Academy found their leader in underclassman Gaige Daugherty, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daugherty has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Orion Grayer, who scored two points along with seven blocks and six rebounds.
Cedar Key bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Cedar Key was able to grind out a solid win over Meadowbrook Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 51-38. Does Cedar Key have another victory up their sleeve, or will Meadowbrook Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
