The last time they met, Midwest were the 47-11 winner over Lingle-Fort Laramie. This time around? They had no such luck. Midwest were completely outmatched, falling 13-64 to Lingle-Fort Laramie. The state rankings had actually given Midwest a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Midwest's defeat came about despite a quality game from junior Austin Sansoucie, who snatched 2 receiving TDs and picked up 60 yards on the ground. In fact, with 13 tackles Sansoucie was a force on both sides of the ball. Senior Kaleb Smith was in the mix, too, providing Midwest with 2 touchdowns.
The loss dropped Midwest's record to 1-4. The win got Lingle-Fort Laramie back to even at 2-2.
Next week Midwest take on Guernsey-Sunrise at 7:00 PM. Lingle-Fort Laramie will be staying on the road, facing off against Kaycee. Both of those teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous games.
