Baptist Prep had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Hot Springs Trojans with a sharp  18-4 win.
 Hutch Finton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  pitched two innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   one  hit. Finton was even better at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Nick Boyette was a standout: he got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nolan Boyette, who  scored a  run and  stole  Three bases. while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.

 Baptist Prep  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .634. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in April of 2024.
This is the second loss in a row for Hot Springs and  nudges their season record down to 0-2.
