The Pelion Panthers were the 43-26 winner over the Fox Creek Predators when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Pelion took a hard 46-28 fall against Fox Creek on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Pelion has lost by exactly 18 points.
Fox Creek found their leader in underclassman Maya Kryshtalowych, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. Kryshtalowych hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. Jada Jennings was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Pelion's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Fox Creek, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.
Pelion will take on Strom Thurmond at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fox Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Batesburg-Leesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Batesburg-Leesville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
