The Bryan Bears's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past Burke 76-54. Given Bryan's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Burke is ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Bryan to victory were Amir Martin and A'mare Bynum. Martin scored 22 points, while Bynum dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Bynum's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Jarmon, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Bryan's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Burke, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-7.
Bryan won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. Buena Vista comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Burke, they will be playing at home against Roncalli Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
