Watchung Hills Regional (Warren, N.J.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Plainfield (N.J.), 33-6, on Saturday.
The Warriors were up 20-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Anthony Prus touchdown run in the first quarter.
Watchung Hills Regional expanded its lead to 33 points entering the fourth quarter. WHR scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Tommy Giaimo.
Prus was the top performer for the Warren school. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
The Cardinals' lone touchdown came on a 22-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 12-7 win for the Warriors.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Watchung Hills Regional, which was coming off a 21-6 defeat at the hands of Immaculata in its previous game.
Plainfield (0-5) goes up against Ridge in a Mid-State 38 - Watchung game matchup next week, while Watchung Hills Regional (2-3) locks horns with Montgomery also in a Mid-State 38 - Watchung game.
