Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Monticello

Monticello had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rison Wildcats a 10-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Billies have won by exactly ten runs.

Halle Ross was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addi Frazer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Monticello always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rison only posted an OBP of .211.

Monticello's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Rison, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Monticello has already played their next matchup (against Junction City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Rison, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-5 loss against Drew Central on the 31st.
