The Mesa Ridge Grizzlies made easy work of the Manitou Springs Mustangs on Tuesday and carried off a 15-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Locklen Lemley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Mesa Ridge is 2-1 when Lemley allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-12 otherwise. Lemley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Manitou Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.
