McCann Tech extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They fell 33-24 to the Mahar Regional Senators. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Senators from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
As for Mahar Regional, the victory got them back to even at 1-1. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their six-point performance the match before.
Mahar Regional found their leader in freshman Lee Cruz Jr, who picked up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cruz Jr's longest reception was for an incredible 83 yards. Freeland Ringer was another key player, throwing for 162 yards and three TDs on only nine passes.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCann Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monument Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on October 11. As for Mahar Regional, they will head out to take on Quaboag Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
