City College put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Digital Harbor Rams with a sharp 20-2 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Black Knights also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.
Brooklynn Murrell was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Murrell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Imani Lewis and Keira Thompson did most of the damage at the plate: Lewis went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Thompson scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Lewis has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ja'Dyn Muldrow, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
City College was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
City College's win bumped their record up to 4-0.
