The Palmer Trinity Falcons had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 49-32 win over St. Brendan. That's another feather in the cap for Palmer Trinity, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Palmer Trinity to victory were Jade Leon and Emma Esparza. Leon scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds, while Esparza scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Missy Nieves, who scored 8 points.
Despite the loss, St. Brendan still got an impressive performance from Jaden Castro, who scored 10 points. The matchup was Castro's third in a row with at least ten points. Gianna Vindigni was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Palmer Trinity's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for St. Brendan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Palmer Trinity will head out on the road to face off against Palmetto at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Brendan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Marathon at 3:30 p.m.
