Stranahan is 0-7 against Cardinal Gibbons since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Stranahan Mighty Dragons will be staying on the road to face off against the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Stranahan will be strutting in after a victory while Cardinal Gibbons will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, while Stranahan put up some points, the same can't be said for Fort Lauderdale. Stranahan took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 30-0 victory over Fort Lauderdale. Stranahan might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 30 points or more this season.
Among those leading the charge was Rueben Toombs jr, who threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns. Joshua Hoggins was in the mix too, providing Stranahan with two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Stranahan's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was James Lewis and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Cardinal Gibbons' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their rough 34-14 defeat to Clearwater Central Catholic might stick with them for a while. Cardinal Gibbons was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.
Stranahan's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Stranahan suffered a grim 44-24 defeat to Cardinal Gibbons in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Stranahan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
