The Plattsburgh Hornets''s nine-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Saturday. They had just enough and edged AuSable Valley out 18-15. This was payback for Plattsburgh, who suffered a 14-6 loss the last time these two teams met.
Plattsburgh got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Ladue out in front who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Ladue's longest rush was for an incredible 91 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Hartmann, who threw for 161 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Plattsburgh's victory bumped their record up to 1-7. As for AuSable Valley, their loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Plattsburgh will face off against Beekmantown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Beekmantown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Plattsburgh in New York (Beekmantown is ranked 198th, while Plattsburgh is ranked 528th). AuSable Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
