Center is 3-0 against Wheatland since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Center Cougars' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Wheatland Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Center pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Twelve Bridges. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Center in their matchups with Twelve Bridges: they've now lost four in a row.
Center's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Terrill Reid, who scored 17 points along with six assists and four steals, and Dominic Johnson who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Reid is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Nisi, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wheatland had to suffer through a rough 74-44 loss at the hands of Bear River. Wheatland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Center has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-21.
