Even though the Taylor County Bulldogs have not done well against the Madison County Cowboys recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Taylor County walked away with a 48-40 win over Madison County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Taylor County.
Taylor County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allen Collier, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trayce Abercrombie, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Madison County still got an impressive performance from Marcus Hawkins Jr., who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Chris Crumity was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
The victory got Taylor County back to even at 4-4. As for Madison County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-7 record last season and are now at 2-5.
Taylor County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Santa Fe at 8:00 p.m. on December 27th. Madison County and FAMU DRS will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
