Parker Noonan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Henry Jennings was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Vince Porcaro, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Western Branch put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Oscar Smith.
Not much got past Ian Taylor, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Oscar Smith off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Adams, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Markel Smith, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI.
Western Branch hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive matchups.
Western Branch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Deep Run, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Deep Run has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Western Branch struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
