Cienega is 8-2 against Desert View since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bobcats will venture away from home to take on the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Cienega will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Cienega barely beat Marana the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Tigers on Wednesday. Considering the Bobcats have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cienega got a massive performance out of ANTHONY MONTEZ, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. The Bobcats are undefeated when MONTEZ posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise. DONOVAN EASTWOOD also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Cienega always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Desert View entered their game against Tucson High Magnet School on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Jaguars fell 8-5 to the Badgers. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jorge Zazueta made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Valenzuela, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Cienega is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Desert View, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cienega has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Desert View struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Cienega's way against Desert View in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Cienega made off with a 13-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
