DeAngelo Berry ran for two touchdowns and
Andrew Meoli added two as well as
Xavier (Middletown, Conn.) upset Greenwich (Conn.) 55-14 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Berry in the first quarter, the Falcons led 27-14 at the half.
Xavier expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. XHS scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Meoli.
With the win the Middletown school extended its winning streak to six games. The Falcons defeated the Blue Dragons 41-14 last week.
The Cardinals' Austin Longi played well. The sophomore ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Xavier's most effective player was
Tim Boyle. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
XHS had given up an average of 17.6 points prior to the contest. Greenwich's 14 points were well below its season average of 43.6 per game. GHS came in surrendering 16.9 points per game this season. The Cardinals struggled against the Falcons, which came in averaging 44.1 points per game.
