Somerset has gone 8-2 against Greater Johnstown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will square off against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Somerset is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
If Somerset beats Greater Johnstown with 14 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went the Eagles' way against Bishop McCort on Thursday as they made off with a 14-4 victory. Considering the Eagles have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Braeden Flower made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Somerset and bumps their season record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Greater Johnstown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Greater Johnstown's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Somerset has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. Everything went Somerset's way against Greater Johnstown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Somerset made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
