Several Colonels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nayah Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Edwards set a new season high mark in steals with eight. Maddie Shirley was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
James Wood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Handley, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
James Wood will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sherando at 6:00 p.m. Sherando is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Handley, they will head out on the road to face off against Spotswood at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
