The Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Mohonasen Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cobleskill-Richmondville knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mohonasen likes a good challenge.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Cobleskill-Richmondville nor Schoharie made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Storm with a sharp 10-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

Brody Becker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Matt Gunzinger was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Rotman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Cobleskill-Richmondville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Mohonasen came up short against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk on Friday and fell 6-2. The Warriors have struggled against the Ravens recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Like Cobleskill-Richmondville, Mohonasen also got a great game from a two-way player: AJ Crux. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Crux was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Crux wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brennan LaRue, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Cobleskill-Richmondville pushed their record up to 6-1-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Mohonasen, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Mohonasen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cobleskill-Richmondville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Mohonasen, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain Cobleskill-Richmondville's hitters?
Cobleskill-Richmondville came out on top in a nail-biter against Mohonasen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
