The Clifton Central Comets waltzed into  Friday's  matchup with two straight wins  but they left with three. They blew past Tri-Point 65-34 at home. Given Clifton Central's advantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings  (they are ranked 286th, while Tri-Point is ranked 732nd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clifton Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Cameron Meents, who  dropped  a double-double on 10 points and 10  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aidan Podowicz, who  scored 7 points along with 3  steals.
 Clifton Central's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Tri-Point, they are  on a four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-8.
 Clifton Central has the luxury  of staying home another  game and will welcome Reed-Custer at 7:00  p.m.  on December 11th. As for Tri-Point, they will head out on the road to face off against Gardner-South Wilmington at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
