Softball Recap: Ferndale Wins Going Away Against Hayfork

Ferndale never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Hayfork Timberjacks 13-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Timberjacks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Olivia Gossi was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Gossi was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ferndale let Rainy Rodriguez and Randi Rice run wild. Rodriguez got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Rice went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Quinn Stokesberry also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Hayfork, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Ferndale wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-1 defeat against South Fork on the 17th. Hayfork has also already played their next game (against Loyalton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
