St. Joseph is 8-2 against Arroyo Grande since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Knights will take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. St. Joseph's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Arroyo Grande's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Monday, St. Joseph came up short against Mission College Prep and fell 5-1.
Khandi Rodriguez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Annalyssa Cota made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Arroyo Grande posted their closest win since March 1st last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cabrillo, sneaking past 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Conquistadores: they've now won five in a row.
Adelana Rodriguez (2026) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Arroyo Grande saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Creath (2025), who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Creath (2025) has posted since back in March.
Arroyo Grande's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for St. Joseph, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Joseph has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Arroyo Grande struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
St. Joseph was able to grind out a solid victory over Arroyo Grande in their previous matchup on April 4th, winning 5-1. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
