After flying high against the East last Friday, The Cardinal Mooney Cardinals came back down to earth. Cardinal Mooney lost to Ursuline at home by a decisive 35-16 margin on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cardinal Mooney in their matchups with Ursuline: they've now lost five in a row.
Jack Ericson was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 122 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 152 yards and a touchdown. Ursuline also got help from DC Ferrell who showed off his sure hands for 98 receiving yards.
Cardinal Mooney has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Ursuline, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cardinal Mooney will play host again and welcome Buchtel, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ursuline, they will be playing at home against New Philadelphia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Philadelphia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Ursuline is ranked 11th).
