The Downey Christian Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 96-62 victory over Nazaret Christian Academy. With Downey Christian ahead 55-26 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Downey Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mickael Heritiana, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Patrick Olajuwon, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Downey Christian pushed their record up to 17-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.7 points per game. As for Nazaret Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Downey Christian will take on the at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nazaret Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
