The Spanish Fort Toros will take on the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers in a tournament on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Spanish Fort was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bay on Tuesday. Spanish Fort was the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Bay. The Toros not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024.
Cayden Dorger was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Isabelle Walker looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, Spanish Fort got a big performance out of Haley Hart, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexa Nance, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, North Bay Haven Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Arnold as North Bay Haven Academy made off with an 8-1 victory. Considering the Buccaneers have won five games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Mallon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, North Bay Haven Academy let Bailee Gladden and Kaylee Goodpaster run wild. Gladden went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Goodpaster went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
North Bay Haven Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
North Bay Haven Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.2 runs. As for Spanish Fort, their record now sits at 13-1.
