The Covenant Academy Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Calvary Baptist Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Two weeks ago, Covenant Academy had to suffer through a rough 63-29 loss at the hands of Founders Christian.
Calvary Baptist suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of The Covenant Preparatory School by a score of 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Calvary Baptist saw an underclassman step up: Max Guisler dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Guisler has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Tyler Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Covenant Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Calvary Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
Covenant Academy might still be hurting after the 68-44 defeat they got from Calvary Baptist in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Covenant Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
